Enjoy one of the many parks that Southend has to offer; the closest, Southchurch Park, is a recreational park with sports pitches, including a cricket ground, formal gardens, a playground, boating lake and café – and it's just a short walk away.

Cultural Sites

Prittlewell Priory is only ten minutes away; founded in the 12th century by monks from the Cluniac Priory of St Pancras, this medieval Priory passed into private hands at the time of the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII.

If shopping is your thing, then you have the option of either The Royals or Victoria shopping centres. Both offer a fantastic shopping experience close to the seafront with all your favourite shops, eateries and accessible parking.

Our family, including our teenage son who has autism, recently had a midweek break at Next Door But One.

Finding somewhere suitable to stay has always been tricky for us because of Luke’s behaviour, but we felt relaxed from the moment we arrived.

The house itself is gorgeous and it’s the first time we have been able to take a break together without worrying about the other guests!

For me, the spotless housekeeping and adorable touches made our stay feel like a 5* hotel.

The house is perfectly located too with everything we needed within easy walking distance and the beach just across the road.

I highly recommend Next Door But One and we will be returning very soon.
